Kathleen Green Lab

Our Lab

Just as communication between people is essential for our society to thrive, so too is communication between cells in a multicellular organism essential for its existence. Our goal is to understand the molecular basis for how cells stick together, not only to provide mechanical strength to tissues, but also to regulate chemical signals important for development and differentiation. We are particularly interested in tissues such as skin and heart that are major targets for adhesion-related diseases, including inherited, autoimmune and bacterial-toxin mediated disorders and cancer. The Green laboratory provides an open, collaborative, congenial research environment promoting high impact research while mentoring students and fellows for a future as independent scientists and educators. Enjoy our site, and please contact any one of us if you need further information.
