Exploring the functional roles of noncoding regions in animal development.

Welcome to the Parvez Lab

We are an interdisciplinary lab in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Our lab's focus is to identify functional non-coding genomic regions and to understand how these elements regulate animal development. We employ large-scale, functional genetic screens in zebrafish combined with multimodal downstream phenotyping approaches to answer this important biological question.
