Our Work

The Opal Laboratory is working to unravel the complex biology behind the degeneration of neurons that leads to movement abnormalities like ataxia (lack of coordinated movement) and parkinsonism (tremors and muscle rigidity).

By investigating the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms, we hope to develop effective treatment strategies to improve the lives of those affected by neurodegenerative conditions. Explore our work in more detail below.
