Studying neurology of language and music and neurocognitive interventions

The Bonakdarpour Lab: Laboratory for Interventions and Neuroimaging of Cognition (LINC)

Based at the Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease, our laboratory uses multimodal neuroimaging to study the underlying neural mechanisms of language impairment (aphasia) and impairment in other areas of cognition.  Our long-term goal is to understand the pathophysiology of aphasias and to use that information to develop and evaluate effective treatments for aphasia.

Bonakdarpour Lab is also home to Northwestern Music and Medicine Program with focus on music-based interventions, clinical music programs, and music and medicine education.
