Translating molecular insight into better therapies for brain tumor patients.

The Youngblood Lab at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine studies the molecular mechanisms that drive brain tumor growth, aggressiveness and treatment resistance. By integrating genomic, epigenetic and immune approaches, we work to uncover new insights into how these tumors form and evolve and to translate those discoveries into better therapies for patients facing some of the most challenging central nervous system tumors. Our work spans discovery science and translational application, from defining the epigenetic drivers of tumor behavior to developing novel immunotherapeutic and treatment strategies for tumors that resist surgery.
