Available Positions

An NIH-supported postdoctoral fellowship is available in the laboratory of Geoff Swanson in the Department of Pharmacology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. We are investigating how kainate receptors contribute to neuronal and circuit-level development in the central and peripheral nervous system, and how disrupted signaling through these receptors leads to human neurodevelopmental disorders. The lab uses new and established mouse models, behavioral and cellular approaches, and brain slice patch-clamp electrophysiology and optogenetics.

The successful candidate will be a neuroscientist with experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology. We are a highly interactive neuroscience community, and the new postdoctoral fellow will work as part of a team that includes members of other laboratories in the Departments of Physiology and Neurology at Northwestern University. The laboratory space is located on the downtown Chicago campus of Northwestern University. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, laboratory experience, and institutional guidelines.
