The He Lab uncovered has a mechanism by which exercise activates metabolic benefits in the body, according to a new study published in Cell Metabolism.

Research was led by Kenta Kuramoto, PhD, and was also highlighted in Nature Reviews Endocrinology, Editors' Choice of Science Signaling and Feinberg's News Center. Congrats!

Pingdong Liang, PhD, joins the He Lab as a postdoctoral fellow. Pingdong earned his doctorate from Illinois Institute of Technology in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology where his research focused on intracellular host-pathogen interactions, specifically Chlamydia trachomatis.

Welcome Zuoheng Jack Qin

Zuoheng Jack Qin, MS, a PhD student in Northwestern's Interdepartmental Neuroscience program, joins the He Lab. He is interested in studying the underlying mechanisms and therapies of neurodegenerative diseases such as Guillain-Barré syndrome and Huntington's disease. Prior to joining Northwestern, Jack earned a Master's degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences at the University of Melbourne.
